Infusion
An infusion is a method of extracting therapeutic and nutrients properties from plants, seeds, vegetables, fruits etc. You can infuse in oil, vinegar or alcohol.
If you use your imagination, you could have tons of marinates and herbal rubs to create some amazing dishes. You can also by the sugary drinks and sodas and infuse your water with fruits and herbs. Place in the refrigerator to chill and enjoy!
I will quickly go over some pointers. I go more into detail in my Herbal Ebook but remember to always be sure you are using sterile utensils and containers if you infuse your products to sell. Always, always only use distilled water y\to prepare your products for selling. Distilled water is very available and low cost, you could get a gallon for less than two dollars. The last thing you need are critters growing in your product.
If using self dried seeds or petals make sure they are completely free of any water before infusion in your oils. I will leave you with an easy, effective and useful Herbal Hair Tea recipe. Let me know if you tried it and if your hair loved it.
You will need 2-3 of these herbs:
- Rosemary, Sage, Violet Leaves, Marshmallow Root, Thyme, Calendula, Nettle or Horsetail.
- 3 cups simmered distilled water (do not boil)
- Spray bottle or Squeeze bottle
Place 1/2 to 1 cup each of your chosen herbs in a clean container heat tempered container. Pour your simmered water over herbs and cover with lid. Let them marinate, once cooled pour the amount of the infusion you would like to use in a spray bottle. You can freeze the rest in ice cube trays for use later. Pop them out and thaw as you need.
Spray your hair, wet or dry focusing on your scalp. Do this over a basin to catch any tea that runs off. Let the tea dry on your hair and style as usual. repeat daily to weekly for desired results. To see results from any remedy you should use for at least 1-2 months.
My choice of herbs would be Thyme, Rosemary and Nettle or Horsetail.
