Why Your Body Butter May Feel Firmer
If you’ve recently opened a jar of body butter and thought, “Hmm, this feels a little firmer than usual,” you’re not imagining it. As the seasons change, so does the texture of my Body Butters. Let me explain why that happens and what it means for your skin.
It’s All About the Ingredients
I use raw, unrefined butters like shea and mango, and nourishing oils like hempseed, safflower, and babassu. These are real ingredients with no stabilizers, no fillers, and no shortcuts. That means they respond naturally to temperature changes. In the cooler months, the formula is adjusted to not be too firm. In the warmer months, I adjust for firmer butters to buffer some melting.
Because I don’t use stabilizers, your body butter might feel a little harder in the jar, but I promise, it still melts beautifully into your skin once you scoop it out.
If you do receive melted Body Butter, you can rest assured you are not losing product.
What That Means for You
You’re still getting all the benefits: hydration, nourishment, and that rich skin feel you’ve come to love. The only difference? You might need to warm it up between your palms a little longer or scoop a bit more firmly.
Real Skincare Moves With the Seasons
Handmade products are just like us; real, flexible, and ever-changing. I make every jar with intention and care, and I want you to feel confident that even when the texture changes, the quality never does.
If you ever have questions about your butter’s texture or how to use it, I’m always just a message away. I’m here to make self-care feel good, not complicated.
